TIP OF THE MONTH!!! - YOU AND YOUR ALARM

We hear of it time and time again. The sad news that someones house was broken into and they were robbed, assaulted, beaten and even killed. Sometimes these people had families. Wives. Husbands. Children. We've heard stories of people having weapons in their homes and still falling prey to a home invasion; sometimes even killed by the intruder with their own weapon.

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND IMAGINE WAKING UP TO THE PICTURE ABOVE!!!

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT KNOW SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T HAVE AN ALARM:

Most of the time it's because they think they don't need one or they can't afford one. One quick look at alarm companies and their offerings and you would find that, that's just not true. Some companies offer free systems and charge less a month than you're okay with paying for high speed internet. Why not go with a free dial-up provider; they take you to the same internet?

NO ONE ever NEEDS and alarm...........UNTIL YOU DO!!! There are, literally, 2 types of people when it comes to home security. Those that got an alarm system BEFORE something happened and those that got one immediately AFTER something happened. Which would you rather be? Basic BA systems are inexpensive and can be monitored inexpensively. There are amazing local companies (Such as Eales) that value the security and homes of the lives of the people they protect in their communities. But think about this....

I had a customer on time that I was visiting in his home. His wife was watching TV on a nice TV ad she was obviously watching shows that were on an expanded pack from their cable/satellite provider. She was going back and forth between us and the TV pretty frequently. All the while, his son and daughter are running around the room; making it very hard to make sure he his hearing me but...kids will be kids. When all was said and done, based on what he had told me, what he said he wanted and the review of his security needs, we ended up with a pretty big price of right around $3100. His immediate reaction was a loud country accent filled bolster of "HELL SON...I don't have anything in this house worth THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!" I was bold, brazen, young and stupid so I asked..."Can I make you an offer on your family?" He looked like he was about to kill me. He leaned forward like "I can't believe you just said that." All the while in my head I'm thinking "I cant believe I just said that." He looks over at his wife to be like "can you believe he just said that?" But...his statement had apparently caught her attention; as she looked back at him like "I can't believe YOU just said that. They ended up getting a $2200 system.

I have plenty of those stories but, nothing has ever been better to me than the customer I saw years after I setup his system who gave me a hug and told me "Thank you...you saved our lives." I knew I had done my job.

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DO HAVE AN ALARM:

Some of you only got it because you get a break on your insurance. Some of you got one to keep your family at ease. But a lot of people have gotten one for the RIGHT reasons.

My only problem with some of you is..................ARM THE DANG THING!!!

You got an alarm system and you never use it? You never armed it? You don't even know how? Everyone, even my 9 year old can use a smart phone but, you can't use your alarm............COME ON!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've heard stories, read or seen reports of someone's home being broken into and they found the bodies a week later and in the news reel or the picture is the sign of an alarm company sitting in their yard. And...I'm not just talking about when you're leaving. Arm it when you're home too!!!

Did you know that your alarm is smart? No really it is! It knows whether you're home, you're not home, if it's a burglary, if it's a fire...it's crazy smart. How does it know these things, you ask? Because of the devices attached to it and how it's armed. When you leave, you arm your system in "AWAY." When you're home, you arm it in "STAY." NOW...when the monitoring center calls the police department, there are different ways they will dispatch to different scenarios. Which do you think they'll come to faster, a home invasion or a burglary? Which do you think they'll come to protect faster...you or your TV?

Don't just take advantage of the financial savings it brings you.....be around to enjoy them! USE IT!!!

FOR EVERYONE:

An alarm system is like a seat belt in a car. Would you buy one that didn't have one? Would you not use it; thinking "I'm not gonna hit someone"...?

We are at a point now where, almost every home has an alarm system in it. Nowadays, homes are being built with them in...right from the get go. It's in the plans and is part of the house before the foundation is even laid. So...If someone has already gone through the expense of putting one in, why wouldn't you just...TURN IT ON?

As always....be sure to LIKE our facebook page, SHARE it with friends and family and INVITE them to do the same.
