TIP OF THE MONTH!!! - BACK TO SCHOOL

So the kids are going back to school and you couldn't be more excited. It's a great time of year. But there are some things to think about for your childs' safety both in the home and out. If your child is a "latch-key-kid" it might be better if, they have no key at all. Add secure doorlocks and deadbolts that are tied to your alarm system and can be controlled by home automation features of your Eales system. A simple code can be used. You can also setup cameras or you image monitor to send you a picture or video clip so you can see that they got home safe...and alone.
If your kids walk home instead of bus, you should teach them to always be aware of their surroundings; people, cars, sounds, everything. It needs to be understood that, while they are walking, they shouldn't be on phones, electronic devices at all or have headphones in. They need to be paying complete attention to what is going on around them. When they get home, there will plenty of time for that stuff.
It's always good when the kids are back in school. It frees up the day, parents can go back to work longer, not as much of a mess is made durring the day. I know these aplly for me at least. But my first and foremost concern is that they are safe. The rules that you put in place are simple and safe and not, overly, confining. But they need to understand that they're there for a reason.
Everyone have a great, happy and safe school year.
